A 22-year-old man is set to face court after police allegedly uncovered a stash of drugs and a large knife during a routine traffic stop in the Hunter Region.

Lake Macquarie Highway Patrol officers stopped the man’s vehicle on Cameron Park Drive, Cameron Park, at around 10.30am on Tuesday.

Police said the driver underwent a roadside drug test, which allegedly returned positive readings for methylamphetamine, cannabis and cocaine. A secondary oral fluid sample was taken and sent away for laboratory analysis.
