Lakemba: Wild brawls erupt at Sydney park during local Oztag night

A series of rolling brawls has broken out at a suburban Sydney park amid games of Oztag and children’s sports training.

Footage of the melees has been circulating online and shows males throwing punches and kicks at Parry Park in the southwestern suburb of Lakemba on Tuesday night.

Police say the people involved fled before officers arrived.

The violence kicked off about 6pm at the large sporting precinct.

There was a series of Oztag matches happening at the time, Nine News reports.

In a statement, police said no one had yet been arrested.

“Officers attached to Campsie Police Area Command arrived and were told a group were fighting before leaving the scene prior to police arrival,” a spokesperson said in a statement.
