A woman is dead and emergency services have launched a desperate search for two children who are missing in the water south-west of Sydney.

Police were called to a boat ramp on Floyd Bay, off Hollywood Drive in Lansvale at 10.15am on Saturday after a woman and two children were “seen in the water in distress”.

The woman was pulled from the water but tragically, she died at the scene.

Police and SES workers are urgently searching for the missing children.

A report on the woman’s death will be prepared for the coroner.
