Lidcombe: Major police operation after suspicious man reported near unit block in Western Sydney
A major police operation is underway, with people told to ‘avoid the area’ in Sydney’s west after a man was reported acting suspiciously.

A large police operation has unfolded in Western Sydney after a man was reported behaving suspiciously near a unit complex in Lidcombe.
Officers were called to Uhrig Rd shortly before 7.20am on Tuesday following reports of a man seen acting strangely in the area.
Police quickly set up a perimeter around the scene while specialist officers were brought in to assist with the response.

Several nearby roads, including Uhrig Rd, Carter St and Canning St, were closed.
“A police operation is underway in Lidcombe after a man was reported to be acting suspiciously. Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command were called to a unit block in Uhrig Road about 7.20am, due to concerns about a man seen in the vicinity,” a NSW Police social media post said.
At least 15 police vehicles were sent to the area, with PolAir circling overhead as officers carried out searches.
Multiple officers carrying semi-automatic weapons were also seen at the scene as the operation unfolded.
There have been no reports of injuries.
“A perimeter has been established, and the public is urged to avoid the area while the operation continues,” police said.
