Lithgow: Sydney Trains worker dies after cherry picker crashes into bridge on Inch Street

Police have confirmed that a man has died following a heavy machinery crash in Lithgow, New South Wales.
At 8.50am local time on Thursday, emergency services were called to reports of a truck crash on Inch Street.
Police found that a cherry picker had hit a bridge, which caused it to collapse - trapping two men inside.

Emergency services, including ambulance paramedics and firefighters from both the state and rural fire services, worked for hours trying to free the man.
Tragically, the 34-year-old died at the scene.

Both men worked for Sydney Trains, and police confirmed the driver of the cherry picker had undergone mandatory testing.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing, and anyone with dashcam footage or information is urged to contact Lithgow police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
