A little boy has died after being pulled unconscious from a waterhole in Sydney’s west.

The five-year-old was pulled from Bents Basin, near Greendale, about 5.15pm on Saturday.

“Members of the public performed CPR until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and took over,” NSW Police said.

Paramedics treated the boy at the waterhole, before taking him in a critical condition to Westmead Hospital where he later died.

NSW Police will investigate the boy’s death and prepare a report for the coroner.
