Man charged with murder after much-loved ironwoman Audrey Griffin found dead in Central Coast creek
A 53-year-old man has been charged with murder almost a month after the body of 19-year-old ironwoman Audrey Griffin was found in a creek on the NSW Central Coast, and three days after police released an image of a man they wished to speak with.
Griffin’s body was found partially submerged in Erina Creek near The Entrance Rd in Erina about 3.45pm on March 23, the same day she was reported missing after a night out with friends.
While her death was not initially believed to be suspicious, further inquiries led police to arrest a man in Sydney on Monday.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.The 53-year-old was taken to Surry Hills Police Station where he was charged with murder, along with 11 domestic violence matters unrelated to the murder charge. It will be alleged he had a physical altercation with Griffin.
He was refused bail and will appear before Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday.
