A man has died after being pulled from the Murray River in a tragic boating incident.

Emergency services were called to Perricoota Waters in Moama about 7.25pm on Saturday on reports a man had fallen into the water.

The man fell from the boat when it had to stop suddenly, as a water skier it was towing also fell into the water.

The water skier was uninjured.

The other man, 51, was brought ashore and treated by paramedics, but died at the scene.

Police are investigating the incident and will prepare a report for the coroner.
