Police are reportedly tracking a man who fled into bushland near the Queensland-NSW border after shots were fired.

A major manhunt is under way on the Queensland-NSW border after reports of gunfire on Monday.

The incident began in the area of Queensland’s Elbow Valley, 140km inland from the coastal border, about 8.30am.

At least one police dog squad and helicopter are scouring the area, the Warwick Daily News reports. The masthead reports the man fled into bushland toward the border.
