Marrickville fatal stabbing: NSW Police probe after man stabbed to death on major Sydney inner west road

Police are investigating after a man was stabbed to death on a major road in Sydney’s Inner West on Monday evening.

Emergency services responded to reports of a man being stabbed on Marrickville Road, Marrickville, about 7.40pm.

NSW Police say officers from Inner West Police Area Command and NSW Ambulance paramedics performed CPR but the man could not be revived and he died at the scene.

Police have established a crime scene and a number of streets have been closed.

“These closures are expected to remain in place for a considerable amount of time and motorists are urged to avoid the area,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“No further information is available at this stage.”

Police have called on anyone with information about the matter — or anyone who was in the area at the time with any available dashcam/mobile phone footage — to contact Marrickville Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
