NSW MP Mark Latham’s ex Nathalie Matthews charged after Sydney Airport arrest

The ex-fiancee of NSW independent MP Mark Latham has been charged with three offences after her arrest at Sydney airport.
Nathalie Matthews was taken into custody and escorted into a police car about 7am on Sunday.
In a statement, NSW Police said a 38-year-old woman was taken into custody “by virtue of an outstanding arrest warrant”.

“The woman was taken to Mascot Police Station where she was charged with three offences.”

Ms Matthews has been charged with accessing or modifying restricted data held in a computer, intentionally recording an intimate image without consent and intentionally distributing intimate image without consent.
She was refused police bail and is expected to appear in the Parramatta Local Court on Monday.
She has not entered any pleas to the charges, which do not relate to Mr Latham.
Her arrest comes a day after Mr Latham was separately removed from Sydney’s Royal Randwick Racecourse.
According to NSW Police, the 64-year-old was escorted from the venue after the Australian Turf Club requested he be removed from the members area about 1.45pm.
“The man complied and there is no further police action,” a police spokesperson said.
It’s understood Mr Latham was allegedly not permitted to be on the grounds after he previously resigned his membership.

Mr Latham took to X, formerly Twitter, after the incident, claiming he had not been banned from racecourses.
“This is simply vicious payback for stopping the sale of Rosehill,” he wrote.
“I have spoken to my lawyers to commence legal proceedings.”
Earlier this year, Ms Matthews applied in court for an AVO against the former Labor leader alleging abuse during their relationship.
Mr Latham has denied the allegations and the matter has been set down for a court hearing next May.
He has not been charged with any offence.
