Officer trapped after police car slams into house in Blacktown, Western Sydney

A police officer has been trapped after a police car crashed into a house.
The vehicle was responding to an urgent incident under lights and sirens when it collided with a Mitsubishi SUV on Bungarribee Rd in Blacktown, Western Sydney, about 3pm on Tuesday.
The impact sent the police car into a house, trapping a female constable inside.

Her colleague, the male constable behind the wheel, suffered minor injuries.


The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 30-year-old man, is assisting police with their inquiries.
7NEWS helicopter footage showed the police car with a crumpled bonnet, surrounded by debris.
Firefighters could be seen using a saw to cut through the car’s front window before tearing the roof off and flipping it back to reach the trapped officer.
Emergency services remained at the scene as of 4.30pm.
Bungarribee Rd is closed in both directions, and motorists are urged to avoid the area.
