A pedestrian has died after allegedly being hit by a ute during a road rage incident.

Emergency services were called to Jersey Road at Blackett, in Sydney’s west, on Thursday morning after receiving reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle.

Police discovered a 27-year-old man, who was wearing high-visibility clothes, had been hit by a ute before it was driven away.

The man died at the scene while being treated by paramedics.

Investigators are looking for a white ute with a metal tray, a black canopy and a black toolbox with metal racks on top that was seen in the area.

Police have established a crime scene and are searching for the driver involved in the alleged road rage incident.

Anyone with dashcam footage, CCTV vision or information about the crash are urged to contact investigators.
