Police search for hit-and-run driver after man dies in Melonba in Sydney’s west

A man believed to be in his 70s has been killed in an alleged hit-and-run at Melonba, in Sydney’s west.

He was found injured on the side of Abell Rd, Melonba, about 11.45pm on Sunday but later died at the scene despite the best efforts of paramedics.

The victim is yet to be formally identified.

Police believe the pedestrian was hit by a purple/blue-coloured coupe that had been travelling eastbound on the road.

Investigations continue, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
