NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted to treat the boy, however, he died at the scene.

A crime scene was established as NSW Police investigated the incident.

Around 7.30pm, a 15-year-old boy presented himself at a police station in Sydney’s north-west, where he was arrested.

On Tuesday morning, the 15-year-old was charged with murder over the alleged fatal stabbing of the 17-year-old.

“That boy has now been charged with murder,” a NSW Police spokesperson confirmed on Tuesday.

“He has been refused bail to appear in a children’s court later today (Tuesday 25 November 2025).”

Police are still trying to piece together details around the fatal stabbing.

It is understood that at least two male children were seen running from the crime scene after the alleged stabbing, with at least one of them seen wearing a school uniform.

Police were seen combing the reserve where the alleged murder took place, which is located between Ironbark Ridge Public School and Rouse Hill High School.

NSW Police believe there were multiple witnesses to the alleged murder.

“It would have been a horrifically confronting situation for those (witnesses) and I can only praise them for their efforts,” Detective Superintendent Naomi Moore said.

“It was potentially a dangerous situation they were walking into but they thought nothing of themselves to go in and render aid.”

Attorney General Michelle Rowland took to social media after the fatal stabbing to share her condolences with the family of the 17-year-old.

“My thoughts and deepest condolences are with the young boy’s family during this extremely difficult time,” she wrote.

“I know this news will be particularly distressing for local families.

“May he rest in peace.”

The 17-year-old boy who died has not yet been identified.
