School bus driver, 65, charged in NSW Mid North Coast over allegedly possessing child abuse material

A school bus driver has been charged after alleged child abuse material was found on his electronic devices.

The 65-year-old man had been on police radar since April following a tip-off, and was arrested at his Port Macquarie home on the NSW Mid North Coast on Wednesday.

Police searched the home from about 6.35am and allegedly found child abuse material stored on various electronic devices, which were seized.

He was arrested at the scene and charged with possessing child abuse material using a carriage service, for using a carriage service to solicit child abuse material, and for using a carriage service to make child abuse material available.

He was refused bail and faced Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday, where he was formally refused bail again.

He is due to reappear in the same court on August 21.
