Stabbing victim hospitalised in Bondi Beach after alleged teen machete attack triggered by e-bike argument

The argument is believed to have been sparked by e-bikes.

Two teenage boys, aged 15 and 17, were arrested following a machete attack on a 54-year-old man on Gould Street and Glasgow Avenue in Bondi.

A stabbing victim has allegedly been attacked by teens with a machete at Bondi Beach, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

The 54-year-old man suffered a serious knife wound to his arm on Glasgow Ave about 9.15pm on Friday.

He had been arguing with a teen about an e-bike the boy was riding, before the incident allegedly escalated and became physical, Sunrise reports

The boy fled after the alleged assault, and then returned shortly after with another boy.

“The pair assaulted the man a second time (before) leaving,” NSW Police allege.

Paramedics treated the 54-year-old man and transported him to St Vincent Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A 15-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy were arrested nearby on Beach Rd shortly after and taken to Surry Hills Police Station.

The younger boy has now been charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, common assault, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm.

He was also charged with two counts supply prohibited drug, deal with property proceeds of crime, goods suspected stolen in/on premises and breach of bail.

The older boy was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit and breach of bail.

Both the teens were refused bail to face court on Saturday.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
