Strike Force Carnell swoop as 79-year-old Sydney health worker charged with multiple sexual assault offences
A 79-year-old health worker has been arrested and charged over a string of alleged historical sexual assaults in Sydney.
The man is alleged to have committed the sexual assaults in Sydney’s inner west.
Detectives from Leichhardt Police Area Command commenced Strike Force Carnell in March, to investigate the alleged historical sexual assault of a patient by a male health practitioner between January 2012 and May 2019.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.Police will allege that the man indecently assaulted the male patient, aged between 40 and 47 at the time, at the various health practices in Waverton, Kirribilli, Rozelle and Balmain.
Following extensive inquiries, the 79-year-old man was arrested at Balmain Police Station today.
He was issued a Court Attendance Notice and charged with five counts of aggravated indecent assault and one count of aggravated sexual touching.
The man was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on Friday 23 August 2024.
