“Police immediately treated the man before he was taken by NSW Ambulance paramedics to St Vincent’s Hospital where he later died,” a police spokesperson said.

“He is yet to be formally identified; however, he is believed to be aged in his 40s.

“During the incident, police also arrested a 21-year-old woman, who allegedly closed the unit door on officers after the man ran from police.”

She was charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon, destroy or damage property less than $2,000 and hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.

The woman was refused bail and will appear in court on Monday.
