Travellers are being warned to brace for flight delays and cancellations as a thick blanket of fog smothers Sydney on Wednesday morning.
A Sydney Airport spokesperson confirmed the weather system is impacting operations, with some flights “delayed” and “cancellations” in place as low visibility affects runway movements.
“We will continue to monitor the weather conditions as the morning progresses,” the spokesperson told The Nightly.

The Bureau of Metrology issued a fog warning just after 4am on Wednesday, warning motorists to take extra care while driving in the dangerous conditions.
“Reduced visibility in fog will make road conditions dangerous during Wednesday in all suburbs,” a BoM spokesman said.
“Motorists are advised to take extreme care.”
