Public transport services and aviation sights have been closed for the time being.

Sydneysiders are being warned to expect morning commute delays after heavy fog caused the cancellation of ferry services.

While all services came to a halt on Tuesday morning, some lines have resumed, with ferries east of the Sydney Harbour Bridge now operating.

F3 Parramatta River and F4 Pyrmont Bay ferries are still affected by the thick fog, with some services cancelled between Rydalmere and Circular Quay, and between Olympic Park and Barangaroo.

At this stage, there is no forecast on when those ferry services will resume.

“Make alternative arrangements or consider catching a bus instead,” Sydney Ferries said in a statement on X.

The Bureau of Meterology has warned the reduce visibility in fog will make road conditions dangerous and advised motorists to take “extreme care.”

Sydney Airport has also advised travellers to expect delays and check their flight status online, with the heavy fog disrupting flights.

The conditions should clear by late morning, with partial sunshine expected through the afternoon.
