Truck driver killed after being struck by forklift while working at Menzies Aviation warehouse in Matraville, Sydney
A truck driver has been killed after being hit by a forklift in Sydney’s east.
The 57-year-old man was working at Menzies Aviation’s Matraville warehouse on Military Rd when he was fatally struck by the heavy industrial vehicle about 5.30am on Monday.

Menzies Aviation said the section of the cargo operation had been shut down following the incident in a statement to 7NEWS.com.au.

“This is a tragic day for everyone, especially the family of the truck driver,” a spokesperson said.
“We’re offering them our full support and compassion.
“Counselling has been made available to staff who were onsite when the accident occurred.”
The spokesperson said they were still trying to determine how the incident occurred, and the company is working with NSW Police and Safework NSW as investigations continue.
Police have established a crime scene, and SafeWork NSW has been notified.
Menzies Aviation’s provides ground services and air cargo services for Sydney Airport.
The company’s cargo operations have been temporarily diverted to its main centre at the airport following the incident.
