Turramurra fire: Childcare centre targeted in suspected arson attack in Sydney’s north shore

Firefighters are on the scene right now - and local police have set up a crime scene

A childcare centre on Sydney’s North Shore has been set on fire in what police are treating as a possible arson attack.

Emergency services were called to the Play to Learn Early Learning centre, located just off the Pacific Highway in Turramurra, shortly before 4.25am on Friday after reports of a fire, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and extinguished the blaze, which caused minor damage to the building.

No injuries were reported.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the offenders forced entry through the front doors, poured accelerant throughout the building and then set the child care centre on fire.

The blaze is being treated as suspicious.
