A synagogue in Sydney’s eastern suburbs has been allegedly targeted by two men who pointed a fake gun at the building.
Two men have been charged after a fake gun was pointed at a synagogue in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
About midday, two men, aged 25 and 22, were reported to police after they allegedly aimed an imitation pistol at a synagogue while driving on Kiaora Rd in Double Bay.
The pair were stopped in a Toyota SUV where police allegedly found the pistol and arrested the men.

The 22-year-old was charged with using an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence, possession of an unauthorised pistol and stalking/intimidating with the intention to fear and cause physical harm.
The 25-year-old was charged with possession of an unauthorised pistol.
Executive Council of Australian Jewry co-chief executive Alex Ryvchin said the incident was disturbing.
“This is what confronted Jewish Australians over the sabbath. Well done to the police for their swift action,” he said.
