Wangara Street, Doonside: Two men dragged from burning home after alleged domestic violence incident

Two men have been rescued from a burning house by police officers following an alleged domestic violence incident in Sydney’s west.
Emergency services were called to Wangara Street, Doonside, just after 4.25am on Thursday after reports of a heated argument.
When officers from Blacktown Police Area Command arrived, they found a damaged car out the front and the home already engulfed in flames. Forcing their way inside, police discovered two men, with one restraining the other.

The officers managed to separate the pair and pulled them both from the fire.
A 46-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Westmead Hospital with burns to his back, where he remains under police guard.
The second man, aged 35, was transported to Blacktown Hospital with facial injuries.
Four officers were assessed by paramedics after the rescue.
NSW Fire and Rescue crews extinguished the blaze, and a crime scene has since been established as investigations continue.
