Waterloo stabbing: Police release CCTV in hunt for two people after man’s death at Sydney apartment block
A major new clue has emerged in the hunt for those behind a deadly stabbing at a Sydney apartment block.
Police have released CCTV footage of two people they want to speak to as detectives continue investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in inner Sydney.
The footage was released on Wednesday, more than six weeks after a 34-year-old man was stabbed in Waterloo on August 18.
Emergency services were called to a unit block on Pitt Street about 7.20pm following reports of a stabbing.

A 35-year-old woman who was with him suffered minor injuries after she was also allegedly assaulted.
Detectives have now released footage showing two people walking away from the area and are appealing for help identifying them.
Police blurred one of the people shown in the footage because they believe he may be under the age of 18.
The first male is described by police as Indigenous in appearance, aged about 18 to 19, with a thin build, short hair and about 165cm tall.
He was wearing a black hooded jumper, off-white tracksuit pants and dark shoes with white soles.
The second male is described as Indigenous in appearance, aged about 17 to 18, with a thin build and about 175cm tall.
Police said he had longer hair pulled back into a bun or ponytail, unshaven facial hair and was wearing a two-tone royal blue and light blue hooded jumper.
Images taken in the aftermath of the stabbing showed part of the Waterloo apartment block cordoned off with police tape.
At the time, Superintendent Andrew Garner said investigators had ruled out domestic violence and acknowledged the impact of the death on those involved.
“It’s very traumatic for the community, for emergency services, for families,” he said.
Police did not have descriptions of potential suspects to release in the immediate aftermath of the stabbing.
Detectives are now urging anyone who recognises the people shown in the newly released footage, or who has information or relevant video from the area, to contact police.
