Western Sydney has been rattled by a series of public place shootings within four hours, with investigators now racing to uncover whether the attacks were linked.

The violence began just after 11.15pm on Wednesday when shots were fired at a home before a dark-coloured SUV fled the scene. A man and a woman, both in their 20s, were inside the home on Margaret Street in Fairfield; however, they escaped injury.

Shortly after, around 11.55pm, a single shot was fired at a caravan on Aberdeen Street in Bossley Park. A white Audi sedan was seen leaving the area. No injuries were reported.

The third shooting happened shortly before 3am on Thursday on McIlwraith Street in Wetherill Park, when shots were fired at a business. A black SUV or utility vehicle was spotted leaving moments later. Again, no injuries were reported.

Fairfield City Police has established crime scenes at all three locations and launched an investigation. Detectives are examining whether the incidents are connected and if they relate to two suspicious car fires overnight in Kings Langley and Lalor Park.
