Paramedics said a 15-year-old boy was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital with burns and a 60-year-old man was also burned and suffered smoke inhalation.

Another three children were assessed at the scene and have been taken to Werribee Mercy Hospital. The extent of their injuries or smoke inhalation is also not yet clear.

Fire crews donned breathing apparatuses and brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes.

Victoria Police is also on scene and the fire is believed to be non-suspicious at this stage.
