On Monday night following ‘extensive investigations”, police charged a second person with murder - a 27-year-old Acacia Ridge man.
He is expected to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Tuesday. Police allege he is known to the victim.
Floral tributes were placed at the site of the alleged attack before Thompson’s family released a video statement on Monday.
In the footage, released by police, Thompson’s family fought back tears as they remembered the 23-year-old and vowed to take care of the “light of her life”, her baby daughter.
“The pain of losing Kiesha cannot be put into words,” her sister Keyara Thompson said.
“We are struggling with the enormity of her absence in our life.”
Thompson’s brother Koby Torto said the family would now rally around her young daughter.
“My sister Kiesha had nothing short of a difficult life,” he said.
“But in the past couple of years, she worked tirelessly to create the best life, not only for her but her child who was the absolute light of her life. We are here to support her (daughter) throughout her whole life.”

The family’s statement came as 7NEWS obtained exclusive vision of the moments before Thompson was allegedly run down.
As she walks away from the daycare centre she is followed by a silver Toyota Prado that allegedly mowed her down just minutes later.
Police allege Sant, a mother of three, was behind the wheel but a motive is yet to be determined.
Court documents reveal police are treating the alleged murder as domestic violence.
Police will not reveal the connection between the women but continue to investigate Sant’s previous interactions with the victim and her social media activity.

Sant did not appear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday where her lawyer asked for the case to be moved to Beenleigh, where she will face a magistrate on July 31.
The accused is yet to enter a plea.
The family of her alleged victim have launched a GoFundMe appeal to support Thompson’s young daughter.
