A 16-year-old girl is in a critical condition after she was allegedly hit by an e-bike rider who was over the legal alcohol limit and had drugs in his system.

A 16-year-old girl is in a critical condition in hospital after she was allegedly hit by an e-bike rider who was over the legal alcohol limit and had drugs in his system.
Emergency services were called to a location on Shellharbour Road in Barrack Heights, south of Woolongong, following reports that a pedestrian had been run over by a person on an e-bike at 10.50pm on Sunday evening.
The 16-year-old victim received treatment from paramedics and was airlifted to St George Hospital in Sydney in a critical but stable condition.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.The driver of the e-bike, a 35-year-old man, returned a breath test reading of .135 after he was taken to the nearby Oak Flats Police Station.
Police say the man allegedly also tested positive to cocaine and methylamphetamine.
No charges have been laid, but a crime scene has been established.
Another e-bike rider was at the scene at the time of the incident but fled before emergency services were called, according to a police statement.
“Following the collision with the girl one of the e-bikes left the location without rendering any assistance,” the statement said.
“Police would like to speak with the second e-bike rider that left the scene and are urging the person to contact police.”
