Crash at Goodwood, QLD, that injured two toddlers caused by overtaking attempt, police say

A car that rolled off a rural Queensland road, injuring two toddlers, had been attempting to overtake another vehicle, police have revealed.

Two women were also travelling in the Isuzu MU-X SUV that crashed and rolled on Goodwood Rd at Goodwood, near Bundaberg, about 1pm on Monday.

A woman in her 20s suffered a significant leg injury and a spinal injury, while the other suffered a serious head injury.

One of the toddler girls had stomach and facial injuries, while the other had minor injuries.

All four were taken to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.

Police have launched an investigation into the crash, saying the SUV was trying “to overtake another vehicle and has veered off the road and crashed into a drainage ditch”.

Investigators have called for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
