John Ibrahim confirmed as target of assassination attempt after court lifts gag order in Sydney
One of Australia’s most infamous identities has been exposed as the target of a failed assassination attempt after a court-imposed gag order was lifted in Sydney on Thursday.
It had been suspected that John Ibrahim was the person supposedly in the firing line of two would-be murderers after they were arrested and charged with conspiracy and firearm offences.
The two men were discovered after allegedly aiming a gun at a person in the wrong car close to Ibrahim’s Dover Heights home in July.

Police allege Tupoulahi, 24, had covered his head and was wearing all black when he approached a car and pointed the loaded gun at the person in the driver’s seat.
The court heard Tupoulahi held a gun at the driver, who raised their hands before the 24-year-old then allegedly got into a stolen rental car driven by Zrayka, 20, and fled the scene.
