Serious charges after men stabbed in restaurant fight at Hope Island, Gold Coast

Chaotic scenes have played out in a restaurant in an upmarket Gold Coast suburb as four men engaged in a knife fight.

One man has been charged following an alleged wounding in Hope Island on Wednesday afternoon.

Police are alleging that at around 4.45pm, there was an altercation between the four men at a restaurant on Masthead Way.

A 54-year-old man allegedly sustained a stab wound to his back, a 60-year-old sustained a laceration, and a 58-year-old was assaulted.

Emergency services treated the victims at the scene and transported the 54-year-old and 58-year-old men to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 55-year-old Hope Island man has been charged with one count each of wounding and grievous bodily harm.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear before the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow, September 26.
