After his partner intervened and took the child, the man then confronted her, slapping her in the face before choking her.

After the man released his partner, she called the police.

Officers attended a short time later and spoke with the woman. The man was arrested in Chisholm later that evening and charged with choking, suffocating, or strangling another person and common assault.
