Brisbane park attack: Detectives release close-up images of suspect as baby burner manhunt continues

Close-up images have been released of the man wanted for questioning after allegedly pouring hot coffee on a baby who has sustained serious burns to 60 per cent of his body, as police continue a massive manhunt to locate the offender.

Detectives released the additional images in the hope the public can assist as they close in on the man wanted for the serious at a park in Stones Corner, Brisbane on Tuesday.

Police also released footage of the man, after he poured scalding hot coffee over the infant.

The nine-month-old baby boy was admitted to the hospital with burns after falling victim to the random attack when the alleged offender randomly attacked the child as his mother screamed in horror.

An off-duty nurse who lives nearby told 7NEWS she heard screams coming from the park and went out onto her balcony to investigate.

She said she heard the child’s mother yelling “My baby, my baby”.

The nurse rushed down to the park to help the boy, taking him to her nearby apartment where he was placed under a cold shower before paramedics arrived.

The baby suffered serious, but non-life-threatening burns to 60 per cent of his body.

He was rushed to the Queensland Children’s Hospital with burns to his face, upper body and arms.

Queensland Police have now released CCTV footage from the area, showing a man running from the park.

He appears approximately 30 to 40 years old, with a proportionate build and tanned skin.

He was wearing a black hat, glasses, a shirt and shorts.

The Queensland Police Child Protection and Investigation Unit is investigating.
