“Tanya was a much-loved and valued member of our cleaning team and will be dearly missed,” Corboy said.
“We ask you all to pray for the repose of Tanya’s soul.
“We understand many staff and students will be struggling with this news.”
Corboy encouraged parents to tell their sons and listen to their concerns and feelings.
“Staying connected and engaged with your son is one of the best ways to support him,” he said.
Queensland Police said the death was not suspicious and a report would be prepared for the Coroner.
“We ask that you please keep Tanya’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time,” the principal added.
Corby said efforts were being put in place to help staff and students.
“St. Brendan’s will be concentrating on supporting our staff and students over the coming weeks,” he said.
The tragedy at St Brendan’s comes just hours after a member of the public was found collapsed at a popular private school on the Gold Coast, with emergency services responding to the scene during Friday morning drop-off.
They were found collapsed near Coomera Anglican School.
Emergency services swarmed the school, but the person died at the scene.
The person was reportedly there overnight, the school said in an email sent about 11am.
“In the early hours of this morning, a member of staff came across a member of the public, on the boarder of our campus, who had collapsed overnight,” the school said.
