Queensland Fire Department told 7NEWS.com.au the child was found at the base of the cliff but a spokesperson was unable to confirm if he had fallen.

They said the agency’s role was to move the child to a place suitable for the rescue helicopter.

The child was flown to the Queensland Children’s Hospital about 5.15pm in a stable condition.
