The search for a missing teen with a medical condition has taken a grim turn with police confirming her body has been located.

An urgent land search was launched on Wednesday morning after the 17-year-old girl had been missing for over 24 hours.

She was last seen in the Gold Coast suburb of Robina on Bayberry Lane around 8.30am

Since then, she had not been in contact with family or friends who held grave concerns for her due to an unspecified medical condition.

Police invited the public to join the search before the tragic discovery was made.

Queensland Police confirmed the teen had been found deceased shortly before 3pm, adding a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

“The family have requested privacy during this time,” a police spokesperson said.
