Shocking dashcam footage has captured the moment a reckless driver lost control and ploughed into a tree on a busy Brisbane road.

The vision, filmed on Mount Petrie Road at Carindale in late August, shows a white Ford Fairlane rapidly closing in on another vehicle before dangerously swerving around it at speed.

Within seconds, the car veers off the road and smashes head-on into a tree.

The clip was uploaded this week to the Dash Cam Owners Australia Facebook page, where it quickly sparked outrage.

According to the motorist who shared the video, the Fairlane had been weaving through traffic before the crash The Courier Mail reported.

Despite the heavy impact, no serious injuries were reported.

Online, commenters tore into the driver’s behaviour.

“Lucky you weren’t clipped as he went past,” one said.

Another wrote: “No major injuries is wild! Bro mowed down like 45 trees.”

A third added: “When you overtake, you’re supposed to stay on the road.”

Queensland Police confirmed no official reports have been lodged in relation to the incident.
