Footage shows classmates making several attempts to take the knife from the girl’s hand.

Teachers were eventually able to calm her, and she is now with her family.

A 13-year-old girl was taken to hospital while two other students and a teacher were treated on site.

“Paramedics transported a stable teenage female to Emerald Hospital with facial injuries following a reported assault,” Queensland Ambulance Service earlier told 7NEWS.com.au.

“Three other patients were assessed but declined transport by ambulance, including two teenage patients with minor facial injuries and a female in her 30s with a minor head injury.”

Queensland Department of Education said emergency services attended to “assist staff to safely manage the situation” and classes returned to normal once the lockdown was lifted.

“The department treats the safety and welfare of students and staff as its highest priority,” it said

“Families of students directly involved were contacted immediately and have been offered support.

“Ongoing counselling and support services are available for those who require it.”

A police investigation into the incident continues.
