The parents of a baby scalded with coffee at a Brisbane park are urging police to share more details about his suspected attacker.

The family of a now 10-month-old baby who was scalded when an unknown man threw a thermos of hot coffee on him in a Brisbane park want police to reveal more information about the offender.

Queensland Police believe the man has fled overseas. The baby’s parents want more information about him to be released to the public.

The family, who wish to remain anonymous, returned to the park in Stones Corner on Thursday for the first time since the attack — with burns still visible on their young son’s body.

”He’s really strong and resilient and brave,” his mother told 7NEWS.

“We can’t believe how well he’s doing. He’s so happy and he’s hitting all his milestones,” his father added.

To celebrate reaching 10 months of age, just weeks after he was rushed to Queensland Children’s Hospital with burns to his face and chest, the baby boy donned a miniature police uniform gifted to him by the squad investigating his case.

But too much of that case has remained under wraps, the family believes.

“We would just like a bit of assurance that we are on the right track, and (that the offender) is going to get caught,” the father told 7NEWS.

“How (do) they plan on bringing him back? And if they know where he is in that particular country, is that country working with us?”

While police did previously confirm international authorities are assisting investigations, Queensland Police acting commissioner Shane Chelepy told 7NEWS his team’s limited release of information is strategic.

“We need to balance our investigative strategies with the need for the community to know what’s going,” Chelepy said.

As police investigate the whereabouts of the offender, the family said they are getting settled into a new home which they hope can provide them with a renewed sense of safety.

”I think it’ll just be a nice, new, fresh start after such a difficult month,” the mother said.
