Gold Coast teenager charged after allegedly stabbing female Uber driver outside Westfield Coomera
A teenager has been charged after allegedly stabbing a female Uber driver outside a Gold Coast shopping centre.
The 32-year-old woman was found semi-conscious with multiple stab wounds by a Westfield Coomera security guard on Foxwell Rd in Coomera about 1.25am on Wednesday.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.Detective Inspector Paul Fletcher said the victim had been stabbed in the head, neck and back by her passenger and had remained injured in the car for one to two hours before being discovered.
She was rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
7NEWS understands her injuries were so severe that she may never walk again.


Police allege the 16-year-old passenger fled the scene before being arrested by police about 11am on Wednesday .
He has since been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm, armed robbery and deprivation of liberty.
Police allege the teenager booked the Uber from the Hope Island area to Coomera and was the only passenger in the car.
Fletcher said there was no sign of an argument before the stabbing and the pair did not appear to know each other.
Police believe the alleged attack was random.
“This is an isolated incident and the public always should be aware of their surroundings, but they shouldn’t be concerned about this action, as it seems to be isolated, this one-person involvement,” he said.
In a statement to 7NEWS, Uber said it was “shocked and saddened” by the incident.
“We are shocked and saddened by the horrific incident. We are keeping the driver in our thoughts,” a spokesperson said.
A crime scene has been declared and investigations are continuing.
The teenager is expected to appear before Southport Children’s Court on Thursday.
