Gore Highway: Driver killed after two trucks collide head-on causing fireball at Brookstead in Queensland

A driver has been killed after a horror head-on crash between two trucks caused a fireball on a major highway in Queensland.

The forensic crash unit is investigating the serious crash involving the two trucks at Brookstead on Sunday.

Police have confirmed investigations indicate that at around 10.30pm emergency services were called to the crash scene on the Gore Highway following reports the two vehicles which were travelling in opposite directions had collided.

One of the trucks caught fire and the driver received life threatening injuries before being declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the other truck has received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.

Police are appealing to witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam to come forward as investigations into the incident continue.
