On Thursday, police revealed that after further forensic analysis of the seized material he had been charged with a further 119 charges.

These relate to multiple counts of using the internet to procure children under 16, procure young person etc. for carnal knowledge, carnal knowledge with or of children under 16, indecent treatment of children under 16, involving a child in making child exploitation material and unlawful stalking, intimidation, harassing or abuse.

Detective Inspector Paul Fletcher said the significant number of charges laid reflected the tireless work of detectives and specialist units working in close partnership.

“This outcome is the result of highly coordinated efforts between the Gold Coast CPIU, specialist investigators, and digital forensic experts.

“Our investigations do not stop once a person is charged. We will continue to follow every lead and piece of evidence to ensure the full extent of offending is uncovered and we seek justice for all victims.”

The man has been denied bail and is due to reappear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on May 8.

Investigations are continuing.
