Logan, Queensland: Man shot dead in Beenleigh park as police investigate targeted attack

Police found the man dead at the scene with a gunshot wound.

A man has been shot dead in a public park south of Brisbane overnight in what police believe was a targeted attack.

Emergency crews were called to Hugh Muntz Park at Beenleigh, beside the Beenleigh Marketplace shopping centre, about 10.40pm on Tuesday, where they found the man with a gunshot wound.

He died at the scene.

Police have established a crime scene and cordoned off the park as investigations continue.

Officers believe the parties involved were known to each other, and a spokesperson told NewsWire there is no ongoing threat to the community, 7NEWS reported.
