Man, 61, charged after allegedly striking 22-year-old man with axe in Brisbane altercation

A man has been charged after allegedly hitting another man in the head with an axe during an early-morning altercation.
Emergency services were called to Fifth Av in Sandgate, Brisbane, just before 1am on Saturday following reports of a dispute between two neighbouring properties.
Police allege a 61-year-old man struck a 22-year-old man with an axe, leaving him with a large cut to his head.

The older man was arrested and charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
He is expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday.
