A bystander has been killed when he was caught up in a three-car crash involving a truck on the Gold Coast.

The crash took place when a truck travelling west along Computer Rd in Yatala hit a Holden Commodore, pushing it into a parked Ford Courier ute about 2.07pm on Monday.

A 57-year-old Woodridge man who was standing near the driver’s side of the ute was hit and critically injured.

Paramedics attempted to treat the man, but he was declared dead at the scene a short time later.

Police said the 46-year-old truck driver was helping with their inquires.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or who has dashcam footage is asked to contact police.
