Man killed and woman rushed to hospital after trail bike ride on footpath goes horribly wrong in Ayr, QLD

A man has been killed and a woman has been injured after a motorbike ride went tragically wrong in Queensland.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating following the fatal motorbike crash at Ayr on Wednesday night.

Initial investigations indicate that around 12.30am, a blue Yamaha WR450F was travelling south along a footpath near the Bruce Highway before it crashed.

The rider, a 38-year-old Ayr man, was declared deceased at the scene.

The passenger, a 34-year-old Ayr woman, was transported to Ayr Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses, including anyone with relevant information or footage, are urged to contact police as investigations continue.
