A teenage girl has been grabbed around the throat and choked in a terrifying assault while working at a fast food restaurant in Queensland’s north.

A teenage girl has been grabbed around the throat and choked in a terrifying assault while working at a fast food restaurant in Queensland’s north.

The 16-year-old girl was working a shift at Pizza Hut on Woolcock St in Townsville, when a man entered the store before grabbing and choking her about 8.30pm on Sunday.

He then turned his attention to her 22-year-old colleague, according to police.

“The offender then assaulted a second employee before being removed from the store and fled on foot,” they said.

Both women sustained minor injuries and were taken to Townsville University Hospital as a precaution.

“Investigations are continuing, anyone with information is urged to contact police.”
