Police investigate after woman found lifeless in Brisbane River at Yeronga

A woman has died after being pulled from the Brisbane River early on Saturday morning.

The woman was found by a member of the public walking along Brisbane Corso next to the river at Yeronga about 5.40am.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and found the woman with life-threatening injuries, according to an Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson.

She could not be revived and was declared dead a short time later.

Police said they were investigating the circumstances that led to the death, however, preliminary investigations had suggested it was non-suspicious.
